Jen’s Making Fake Outfits

Does anybody else spend hours browsing on shopping web sites and filling carts with items that he or she would buy if only they weren’t outrageously overpriced. Well there’s a great new web site that makes this habit much less pathetic.

www.polyvore.com is fricking awesome. Basically it opens with a blank dashboard that you can use to make up outfits and then post them for other people to vote on. All of the items you can choose from are real and easily purchased from a number of different web sites. When you actually like something, you can save it to “your items” which means in some distant future when your income doubles you can actually go back into your bin and actually purchase something you’ve long admired.

Another cool part of this —and this is heavily influenced by the fact that I’m cleaning out my closet this week—is that you can recreate outfits that you do have and keep a record to prevent horrible hurried mornings.

Check it out :-)

Jen’s Watching Friends

Words cannot express how much I love this show. Since DVR came around, I’ve managed to rewatch almost the entire show. I don’t know if it’s me getting older or just not paying much attention the last time, but the writing on this show is phenomenal.

I’ve literally bonded with people I barely know by randomly throwing out lines from this show.

Sometimes when I’m walking down the street, a random line from this show cracks me up to the point that people smile at me because they think I’m smiling at them. Sometimes this can be at best misleading and at worst creepy, but overall it’s nice to spread the joy.

Thank you friends :) You’re always on my DVR when I’m down and thanks to tbs, you always will be.
